The Forge

Blacksmiths work with a mysterious metal called lamna. It is indestructible and only found in the forest around Nigme. This is the only place where the faery people can buy something. Everything else is gathered by the faeries themselves.

Zereiya flew over to the forge as fast as she could then stopped and looked around. Her friend was bound to be here. After all, his father did work as a blacksmith, so he hung out here most of the day.

"Zereiya!" She heard a voice call in the distance. She swiveled her head in the direction of the voice then smiled. There stood her friend Erik waving and flailing his arms trying to catch her attention.

She quickly scurried towards him, but tripped over a boy's foot. She looked up, and saw a boy about the age of thirteen holding a parcel and staring down at her with a smirk on his face. She gave him the fiercest glare she could, then got up and continued to run towards Erik.

"Hi, Erik!" He smiled and returned the greeting.

"Hello, Zereiya! You seem unusually happy today!" He noticed, then frowned at her sudden change of mood.

"I'm not. I need to know, why do you think Deran came back? He said it was for some 'unfinished business.' What could he have meant by that?"

"Well... When boys say 'unfinished business' they can mean alot of things. It can mean finish chores, finish a conversation, finish a getting revenge..." Erik replied, tilting his head to look at Zereiya's reaction to the word revenge.

"Okay. Thanks." She said quickly, suddenly losing all traces of being angry, instead replacing it with a deep fear. She needed to go home and relax, for she had heard enough of this nonsense for one day.
