Altera Dock

Another dock, Altera is usually used when Primit is filled.

The trail of magic lead towards Altera Dock. Of course. The criminal would go to the place least used; and that was Altera.

Adillay questioned around, using just a touch of vigilance to make sure no one suspected her of anything. She told no one of what had happened.

Eventually, she learned that a small boat had left Altera Dock about fifteen minutes before she had arrived. Why had it taken so little time? Adillay estimated that was only a few minutes after her house had been destroyed.

The captain of a small travelling boat informed her that this boat had set off for Ryalia, to the city of Nigme. How convenient, Adillay thought. That was where her old friend Zereiya had made her home. She could give me some assistance! Adillay realized.

Adillay asked the captain, "Can you take me to Nigme? I have some business with a passenger of that boat."

"Certainly, provided you pay me."

Adillay was distraught. Her coins had been left in her house! And then she realized she had but a few stored in the hiding place for her journal. Maybe that would be enough.

"I shall return in thirty minutes," Adillay told the captain. "I left my coins at home."

She then made her way to store.

When Adillay returned to Altera Dock, the captain was waiting for her.

"May I ask you your name?" he said.

"My name is Adillay Kievenne," she replied.

"Pleased to be your captain, Miss Kievenne. My name is Brill Turnar."

"Thank you, Captain."

"Is that all you have to bring?"

"Yes, sir," Adillay said.

"That won't cost you a thing!" he chuckled. "Now, come on board, and I'll tell you the amount of payment I'll need for a trip to Nigme. It is not a very dangerous journey, but it will be dangerous to get into the forest. I won't be able to dock at Nigme, as they don't even have a dock! I will dock at Marel, and whoever you have business with will have to bring you to Nigme," the captain explained.

"That sounds fine."

"Well, we best be off!"

"That sounds even better!"

Captain Turnar chuckled.

"Wait, before we set off, I need to have a letter be sent," Adillay told the captain.

"Alright, alright. Be quick, in any case."

Adillay had written a letter to her friend, Zereiya Sapphryn, telling her to be at Marel in two days' time. The captain had estimated that they would reach Marel in three days, counting today.

When she returned, Brill pulled up the anchor and the were on their way.
